New Door Sash Profiles Offer More Flexibility

Front door system heroal D 72 PF EM extended with additional variants Verl, September 2024. Efficient manufacturing processes and throughput times in the workshop reduced by up to 20 %: benefits the heroal D 72 PF EM front door system stands for. The aluminium system provider heroal has now expanded the portfolio of the heroal D 72 PF EM system with double-sided sash-concealing variants and sash profiles for 60 mm thick panels.

New in the portfolio: sash profiles for door 60 mm thick door panels

For single-sided sash-concealing variants, heroal has designed a door sash profile for 60 mm thick panels, which can be attached with a recess or in a flush way. The profile complements the existing portfolio of 48 mm thick panels. The 60 mm thick door panel offers fabricators a high degree of flexibility with regard to inserts such as glass or panels - for high-quality front doors that fulfil special design requirements. The accessories from the heroal D 72 PF EM portfolio, such as the reversible retaining strip, can also be used with the 60 mm variant.

Double-sided sash-concealing panels - very efficient and easy to manufacture

In addition to the single-sided sash-concealing variant (es), fabricators can now choose the double-sided sash-concealing panel (bs), which gives entrance areas a special aesthetic appeal. With the double-sided sash-concealing door panel, heroal provides a panel attachment system with which panels can be created that are reversible/clip-on on both sides. Additional profile machining is not required, so that the door can be further processed immediately. heroal D 72 PF EM bs is therefore the most efficient and simplest way to manufacture a front door with a panel that conceals the sash on both sides. The door panel can be flush or recessed on the inside. The accessories from the heroal D 72 PF EM portfolio can also be used for this variant.

Reversible panel fixing

All door panels of the heroal D 72 PF EM system are simply clipped into place. Compared to full-surface panel bonding with 2-component adhesives, reversible panel fixing is not only the most efficient and reliable method of attaching a panel, it is now also even quicker and easier: no additional profile machining is required in advance for reversible fixing. Instead of the usual mechanical locking pins, a circumferential clip profile connects the door panel to the sash profile. The clip profile ensures a floating mounting, which means that more movement can be absorbed by the profile, preventing warping. It is also no longer required to insert a sealing cord. Thanks to the reversible panel fixing, the door can be processed immediately without having to wait for the adhesive to harden.

Protection against warping without additional working steps

The insulating strip geometry of the heroal D 72 PF EM sash profile prevents warping without additionally required manufacturing steps. This eliminates the usual work on the profile composite and slide-in springs, making fabrication easier, faster and safer. The insulating strip serves as exterior semi-facing and as support to receive the reversible retaining strip needed to attach the panel.

Fixed inner stop

As the door sash profile does not require a glazing strip, fabrication is particularly fast and easy: the sash profile with fixed inner stop is designed for a standard door panel thickness of 48 and 60 mm. No additional machining of the door panel is required.

Enhanced sealing and insulation

The vulcanised moulded corners connect the door seal and the fitting rebate insulation, eliminating the need for conventional sealing wedges. This eliminates the need for time-consuming working steps and reduces material input. The fitting rebate insulation is made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE). This is not only easier to process due to its rubber-elastic properties, but is also recyclable.

Sash profile behind the stop

Due to the sash profile located behind the stop, the exterior shadow gap is eliminated and no gap sizes need to be maintained on the outside. This allows for tolerance-forgiving manufacture and fabrication. On the inside, a flush or recessed sash can be used for all panel variants. The shadow gap on the inside and outside is eliminated with the recessed sash profile.

Clip-in threshold

To match the simple and efficient manufacture of the heroal D 72 PF EM front door system, a 2-part continuous threshold solution is available, in addition to the standard threshold solution using screws. This combines the advantages of the continuous threshold design running under the frame with the advantages of the surface-mounted door seal of the standard solution. In addition, the profiles are simply clipped into place.
