Textile shading for Exte and VEKA top-mounted box systems

Verl, April 2025. The heroal VS Z textile assembly is now also compatible with the VEKA VEKAVARIANT 2.0 and VEKAVARIANT EPS top-mounted boxes. In collaboration with VEKA and Exte, heroal makes it easy to integrate textile sun protection solutions into the Exte XT PVC top-mounted boxes as well as the VEKA systems – an innovation in the field of top-mounted box systems. Fabricators and fitters benefit from a ready-to-install solution for textile shading in new builds and for renovations.

As a system solution tailored to provide optimal benefits, the heroal VS Z textile assembly consists of a prefabricated textile from the current heroal collection, a cut-to-size textile roller shaft, an installed motor from the heroal range as selected by you, a pre-assembled end slat (type III) as well as all required accessories, such as roller caps and motor mounts. The ready-to-install and pre-assembled elements and their easy start-up ensure maximum flexibility and efficiency. The heroal VS Z textile assembly can be installed in existing boxes with immediate operation via plug and play. Interfaces to other equipment are not necessary.

Perfectly coordinated overall solution

The unique heroal VS Z textile assembly gives fabricators and fitters the unprecedented opportunity to integrate textile sun protection as a shading solution in top-mounted box systems. Mounting brackets specifically tailored to the heroal VS Z sun protection system allow the prefabricated solution to be installed in the VEKAVARIANT 2.0 box systems for restorations and renovations as well as the VEKAVARIANT EPS top-mounted insulation box for new builds. The mounting brackets move the shaft mount forwards towards the curtain outlet and ensure the vertical position of the textile screen in the guide rail.

The VEKA and Exte guide rails have been redeveloped to harmonise with the VS Z while also fitting with the manufacturer’s specific platform. They can be purchased directly from the two heroal cooperation partners. To perfectly adjust to the colour of the building, the heroal configurator can be used to order powder-coated and pre-drilled guide rails that have already been cut to the required length by heroal for delivery together with the textile assembly. The zip system at the sides of the textile ensures that the guide rails are firmly held in place.

A huge range of possible designs and harmonious views are created thanks to the maximum element sizes of the heroal VS Z textile assembly, with its generous dimensions of up to 6,000 mm wide and 5,000 mm high as well as a maximum total area of 18 m². The maximum element sizes for integration in the VEKA and Exte top-mounted boxes are 3,000 mm wide and 3,000 mm high. The control system is variable, as the heroal VS Z textile assembly is suitable for motors of various makes and permits curtain control via remote control, manual control via a button mounted on the wall or using an app. The optional crank-operated or battery-buffered drive solutions for a second escape route are also available to meet the highest safety requirements.

The option of using heroal roller shutter finished curtains in different designs in the top-mounted box system, as an alternative to the heroal VS Z textile assembly, opens up a huge scope of possible applications. The range of heroal finished curtains includes various slat and end slat versions in a broad spectrum of colours.

Virtually unlimited design freedom

The extensive range of colours, surfaces and textiles creates almost unlimited design possibilities with the heroal VS Z textile assembly. The coating used for the aluminium components can be coloured to match the window, while the highly weather-resistant heroal hwr powder coating ensures a perfect consistency of colour even on plastic windows. In addition, maximum design freedom is ensured by the more than 250 fabrics in different light transmission levels, from semi-translucent to darkening, reducing solar radiation and UV radiation by almost 100% depending on the textile. The spring-mounted plastic inserts keep the textile perfectly taut in every situation. The systems manufactured using recycled aluminium and high-quality textiles are weather-resistant and set themselves apart with their excellent material stability and exceptional durability.

Efficient ordering and quoting processes

Orders for the heroal VS Z textile assembly can be placed quickly and easily online using the heroal Business configurator. After entering the relevant order details, such as the box type, element dimensions, colour and drive type, the bills of materials and cutting dimensions to use the assembly in the various top-mounted systems are determined. To ensure a high level of planning certainty, all configurations are checked for technical feasibility at the time of entry.
